Komputronik looks to sell 260,000 PCs in 2011

Komputronik, an IT and electronics retailer and wholesaler, expects to sell 260,000 personal computers (PCs) in 2011, which should give it a 9% market share and the leading position of that segment in Poland, according to the company. Komputronik, which had an 8-8.3% share of the market in 2010, expects PC sales to total about three million in Poland this year, based on its own data. Out of the 260,000 PCs Komputronik looks to sell this year, 220,000 are to be portable computers while stationary PCs are to account for the other 40,000.
Komputronik increased consolidated sales revenues by 19.9% year on year to PLN 447.7m (€99.3m) in H1 of the 2011/2012 financial year. Net profit during the period amounted to PLN 1.6m (€355,000), a 22% decrease from H1 2010/2011.The company's sales continued to grow in October and November. The company also took advantage of higher prices caused by floods in Thailand, to which it reacted by gathering large reserves. Komputronik is upholding its consolidated financial guidance for the 2011/2012 financial year (1 April 2011-31 March 2012), i.e. PLN 1.02bn (€226.3m) in revenues and a PLN 14.6m (€3.2m) net profit. Its short-term strategy calls for developing internet sales and optimising the traditional retail chain, which consists of over 140 stores. Including franchise and partner stores, the company has 250 establishments.
