Dialog buys MAN network in Wroclaw
2007-03-01
Telefonia Dialog, an alternative telecommunications operator, has bought an e-wro Ethernet network from Fortum Wroclaw, a supplier of central heating. The telco stated that the integration of the network with its own infrastructure should take around two months and that existing e-wro clients will be able to become Dialog subscribers as of 1 April 2007.
Telefonia Dialog is going to grant a 25% discount for three-month subscriptions for e-wro customers who decide to sign up for Dialog.
The purchase of the network is another effort to increase the telco’s value by developing its infrastructure and expanding the offer on the basis of TP SA’s infrastructure, along with mergers and acquisitions.
In 2007 Telefonia Dialog plans to launch a trial run of the triple-play service involving subscribers (a so-called live test). The offer will include interactive TV and a video-on-demand service. The subscribers will be able to configure their own sets of services. The operator is going to offer video rental with access to film libraries, a service which will enable one to pause and then resume a TV programme, and a “digital VCR”, which permits one to record a programme from a selected TV channel.
Dialog has also announced that it is working on the provision of access to its network via mobile phones.
