The telecommunications operator MNI has announced that it is standing by its forecasts for 2007 and 2008 after publishing the results for 2006. In 2007 the company expects to earn PLN 180m (€46.2m) and to achieve EBITDA of PLN 50m (€12.8m), whereas in 2008 these figures are expected to be PLN 225m (€57.7m) and PLN 60m (€15.4m) respectively. The forecast for 2006 envisaged revenues of PLN 160m (€41m) and EBITDA of PLN 40m (€10.3m), whereas actual revenues came to PLN 162.2m and net profit to PLN 40.2m (€10.3m). MNI stated that the end of the year was particularly favourable for it, as it concluded the purchase of Breakpoint, a leading provider of JAVA games for mobile handsets, started negotiations on the launch of an MVNO (with PTK Centertel, the operator of the Orange mobile network) and introduced the first application for 3G network content management on the Polish market. The company insists that the results were influenced by one-off events: the costs of the dataCom merger, almost PLN 250,000 (€64,000), and the fact that it had created a reserve of PLN 1.4m (€0.4m). Without these expenses, the company would have surpassed its EBITDA forecast by PLN 1.5m (€0.4m).
