Resignations from Netia’s management and supervisory boards
2007-03-23
Pawel Karlowski and Paul Kearney have resigned from their positions on the management board of Netia, an alternative telecommunications operator. Neither they nor the company have disclosed the reasons.
Mr. Karlowski had worked for Netia for around a year and was a member of the board and the commercial director. After Wojciech Madalski, the operator’s previous CEO, left the company, he became the acting CEO and applied for the post itself. The supervisory board has appointed Miroslaw Godlewski as the new CEO, and Mr. Karlowski has become the general director of commerce. Mr. Kearney worked for the operator’s management since June 2003 and was responsible for technology issues.
After the resignations, Netia’s management board consists of four persons: Mr. Godlewski, Piotr Czapski, responsible for strategy and business development, John Eastick, the finance director, and Tom Ruhan, responsible for legal issues. The supervisory board is expected to elect new members within a matter of weeks.
A day after the resignations were announced, Alicja Kornasiewicz, the chairperson of the operator’s supervisory board, also submitted her resignation. She explained that an excessive number of duties have made it impossible for her to focus on chairing the supervisory board.
