Online advertising spending in Poland in 2006 was worth PLN 228.5m and accounted for 3.8% of total advertising expenditure. CR Media Consulting predicts that in 2007 these figures will be PLN 320m and 4.9%, respectively. In 2009 the value is expected to cross the PLN 500m mark, at which point the online advertising market would be earning more money than the radio stations.
The Polish IT services market is to record double-figure annual growth rates by 2008, which is substantially more than the growth predicted for the entire IT market. EITO forecasts that in 2007, the market value of IT services is to increase by around 16%. At the same time, the whole IT market would grow by 9.9%.
The services market will remain the part of the IT industry that grows the most rapidly in Poland.
According to a Megapanel survey conducted by Gemius, 6% of female internet users watch online TV every day or almost every day. Among men, the heavy watchers of IP TV account for 4%. In general, men watch IP TV more often than women. Among women, 36% declared that they had watched online TV only once, while this answer was indicated by 30% of men.
The question canvassed only those internet users who stated that they have watched IP TV.
ICT expenditure per capita in Poland increased in 2006 to €410 from the previous year’s €372. Among the EU countries, only Bulgaria, Lithuania and Romania spend less per capita on ICT than Poland. The value for the entire European Union is €1,344 per capita. This was reported by EITO in its annual report on the IT and telecommunications market in Europe.
In terms of IT spending as the proportion of GDP, Poland is in the third place among EU members from the Central and Eastern Europe. Expenditures in 2006 reached 2.58% of the GDP, while in the Czech Republic this was 3.2% and 2.86% in Estonia. According to EITO, the lowest figure, 1.76% of GDP, was observed in Lithuania.
In 2006, more than 380,000 laser printers were sold in Poland, which is over 100,000, or 38.3%, more than in the previous year. Colour printers accounted for more than 10% of the total volume. According to PART IT Reseller, HP was the leader in both segments.

In terms of volume, HP increased its share in the Polish market of colour laser printers from 43.7% in 2005 to 52.8% in 2006.. Samsung, which was the runner-up in 2006, recorded the most substantial growth of its share, as it tripled in contrast with the previous year. According to PART IT Reseller, Konica Minolta, which in 2005 took second place, lost 4.9 percentage points and in 2006 was fourth among producers of colour laser printers. 
The volume of wire matrix printers sold in Poland in 2006 increased by 15% as compared to sales in 2005. The growth was prompted chiefly by Epson, which recorded a figure 95% higher than in the previous year. The market leader, OKI, sold more than two thousand items less, but is still the front-runner.
This kind of printer is being used in certain areas of the market, for example in the banking and finance sector, as it enables printing a few copies at a time and offers low operation costs.
