BT to offer voice to corporate clients
2007-03-30
The BT Group, a subsidiary of British Telecom, has signed an agreement with TP SA which would allow it to offer voice services to the incumbent’s clients.
BT has, to date, offered only data transmission services in Poland. By entering the corporate client market with voice services, the company will compete with TP SA, Netia and GTS Energis.
BT intends to increase the number of its clients by 30% by the end of 2007. At the moment, the company provides data transmission services to 150 international companies operating in Poland. This figure is expected to double in three years’ time. The operator claims that its revenues from voice calls and related services in the Central and Eastern European region are increasing by 12% every year, twice as fast as the market in general.
