New version of Gadu-Gadu focuses on VoIP

Gadu-Gadu, a listed producer of the most popular instant messaging software in Poland, has introduced a new version of the programme. It focuses on voice communications between the software users and from Gadu-Gadu to fixed and mobile networks.
Calls between messenger users are free of charge, whereas a local telephone call costs PLN 0.09 (€0.02) per minute. Calls to mobile numbers cost PLN 0.78 (€0.21) per minute, and the average price of an international call is PLN 0.09 (€0.02).
Gadu-Gadu also offers the possibility of receiving calls via messenger and voice mail. The company has estimated that tens of thousands of users will download the new version of the software within a day of the launch and it should, eventually, be installed on several million computers.
