Progress for Polkomtel in Q1 2007

KGHM Polska Miedz, a copper producer, has announced that Polkomtel, the operator of the Plus and Sami Swoi mobile networks, made a net profit of PLN 274.77m (€72.7m) in the first quarter of 2007 and earned revenues of around PLN 1.83bn (€484.1m). In Q1 2006 these figures were PLN 241.2m (€63.8m) and PLN 1.71bn (€452.4m) respectively.
Revenues for 2006 as a whole came to PLN 7.36bn (€1.95bn), and net profit exceeded PLN 1.12bn (€296.3m).
KGHM holds a 19.61% stake in the operator and, according to the quarterly report, its shares were worth PLN 539.27m (€142.7m) on 31 March 2007.
