Polkomtel adds around half a million pre-paid subscribers to its base

2007-05-17

Jaroslaw Bauc, the CEO of Polkomtel, the operator of the Plus and Sami Swoi mobile networks, has said, at a press conference, that the company expects to see its revenues grow in 2007 and that a double-figure net profit growth rate is likely to be achieved.
The operator attracted 455,600 new pre-paid subscribers in the first quarter of the year, whereas PTK Centertel, the Orange operator, increased its user base by 75,000 during this period and the Era network operator, PTC, lost 70,000 customers of pre-paid services.

According to Mr Bauc, P4, the operator of the Play network which uses Polkomtel’s infrastructure for domestic roaming, has fewer than 100,000 subscribers, in contrast to the figure reported by the former company. He said that this opinion is based on Polkomtel’s systems.
