A quarter of Poles use mobile phone only

Mobile phones are used by 72% of Poles, according to Ericsson, which based this conclusion on a survey of 1,500 respondents. The penetration rate of SIM cards on the Polish telecommunications market exceeds 96%.
Fewer than half of the respondents, 46%, stated that they own both a fixed-line and a mobile phone. One fifth claimed that they use only a fixed-line, and 27% just a mobile handset. On average PLN 87 (€22.9) is spent every month on fixed-line calls and PLN 66 (€17.4) on mobiles.
