MTI to embark the mobile value-added services market
2007-06-08
Mobilna Telefonia Internetowa (MTI), which offers VoIP calls for subscribers of fixed-line networks, is to expand also in the mobile value-added services market. It is going to offer a service that would enable owners of mobile handsets to make calls via the internet within the reach of UMTS or WiFi hot spots.
MTI plans to sell subscriptions for this kind of service and insists that the calls made via the VoIP network will be cheaper than those available from the existing mobile operators or, within the network, free of charge. At first, the company plans to focus on large and medium-sized companies; it also counts on clients from the public administration sector. It also expects to attract people interested in new technologies.
The subscriber count is to stand at 30,000 at the end of 2008, who would bring in PLN 0.6m (€0.16m) per month. MTI describes this forecast as “conservative” and says that this level might be achieved as early as the end of 2007.
