Tele2 offers broadband
2007-06-28
Tele2 Polska, an alternative telecommunications operator, has announced that it is going to be the most prominent alternative provider of broadband services in Poland.
The company is about to launch ADSL-based broadband with transfer speeds of 1 Mbps, 2 Mbps and 6 Mbps. The service is to be offered via TP SA lines on the basis of the bitstream access (BSA) agreement.
The promotional offer envisages that a customer who signs up for a specified period for 1 Mbps access will pay PLN 15 (€3.9) per month during the first six months of the subscription and PLN 35 (€9.2) in the case of a 6 Mbps line. Tele2 states that, at the moment, the main problem is the time required for the launch of the service. This takes around 30 days, of which the first ten are required for the verification of the documents sent by the client, as the operator insists that it does not want to send TP SA contracts which would be abandoned by the subscribers.
Tele2 will not disclose any forecasts with regard to revenues or the number of clients it intends to attract to broadband.
