The mobile operator CenterNet, which is owned bythe NFI Midas investment fund, has signed an agreement on cooperation with Aero 2, which also has frequencies to render mobile telephony services in Poland and is currently implementing the HSPA+ technology. In accordance with the contract, CenterNet will use Areo 2 radio network, antennas and technical infrastructure in the GSM 1800 frequency band. The latter company will also provide technical support for CenterNet. Thanks to the cooperation, CenterNetwill meet the requirements of the concession, in which the company has committed itself to cover 15% of the population by the end of 2009. The contract is the first RAN-sharing agreement in Poland, which is sharing the radio access networks in order to widen the service coverage by operators. The value of the transaction is estimated at PLN 4.57m (€1.1m) plus tax. The contract is valid until 31 May 2010.
