TP SA plans to broaden its wireless Internet services based on CDMA technology nationwide. By the end of 2010, the Internet access via CDMA is to be available in 85.9% of the country, according to Gazeta Wyborcza. In 2009 the coverage of that technology, offered under the Orange Freedom Pro brand name, accounted for 76.1% of the country. At the end of September 2009, the service had 53,000 clients.
The operator has also introduced new modems that allow connecting with the Internet via the radio frequencies both in the CDMA and UMTS technologies. Moreover, in 2011 TP SA plans to increase its speed from 1 Mb/s to 2 Mb/s and possibly more.
At present the main rival for TP SA’s CDMA offer is the Internet service launched by Cyfrowy Polsat that is based on the network in the HSPA+ technology.
