Play launching fixed-line telephony
2010-02-11
The
Play mobile network introduced fixed-line telephony to its offer in January 2010. The telephone operates on the same frequencies as the mobile phones, but it has a fixed-line number and it can be used within a radius of 500 meters from a house. The operator explains that there is a need for
fixed-line telephony in Poland, as many customers are accustomed to using landline phones.
Play sells three types of subscriptions, offering 60, 300 and 1,000 minutes for free, included in the subscription, for PLN 25 (€6), PLN 45 (€11) and PLN 65 (€16) monthly, respectively.
The new service operates only within the range of the operator’s GSM transmitters.
