Inea to cooperate with Mediatel-CenterNet

Inea, the largest cable television operator in the Wielkopolska region, has signed a letter of intent with NFI Midas, the owner of CenterNet mobile operator and Mediatel, a Polish fixed-line telephony operator. At the beginning of May 2010, the latter two companies plan to finalise their merger.
Inea intends to cooperate with Mediatel-CenterNet on the construction of the mobile network infrastructure. The companies plan to focus on building a network in the Wielkopolska region; however, the infrastructure will be also set up nationwide.
Recently, Inea has also signed an agreement with the Marshal of the Wielkopolskie voivodship on the construction of a WiMAX network. In total, the value of the company’s investments will come to PLN 70m in 2010.
In turn, after the merger of CenterNet and Mediatel, the company will invest around PLN 200m in the next two years.
