In order to attract more customers, publishers are broadening the offer in their online stores, as Rzeczpospolita reported. By way of example, the publishing company Murator has expanded its Supertanio.pl service where it sells various products from gifts to outdoor equipment. Also, Presspublica launched an online store, selling not only magazines, books and multimedia but also other products not related to the publishing activity.
In turn, Axel Springer Polska in its store Literia.pl offers only books and multimedia. Likewise, Kulturalnysklep.pl, owned by Agora, offers books and multimedia only. The latter company also launches special projects, selling selected publications. The Agora’s online store generates healthy results for the entire group. In Q4 2009, it sold 1.4 million books and CDs.
