Polkomtel, the operator of Plus and Sami Swoi mobile networks, intends to expand on the internet market in Poland. It will offer access to the fixed internet based on the Bitstream Access (BSA) agreement with TP SA as early as in 2010. Polkomtel will launch the service in cooperation with another company, whose name has not yet been revealed.
In addition, the operator will launch the internet service based on the CDMA network that is currently being developed by Nordisk, acquired in 2009 by Polkomtel.
Moreover, Polkomtel’s management admitted that it is interested in the acquisition of Telefonia Dialog and P4, the Play mobile network operator, as well as that of Exatel and Hawe. The company also considers investing in a cable television service.
