Polkomtel, the mobile phone operator that manages Plus and Sami Swoi networks, will be put up for sale in October 2010. The vendor due diligence process, which is currently being carried out, is expected to be completed by the end of September. The operator’s shareholders, i.e., PGE, KGHM, PKN Orlen and Weglokoks, will offer 75.5% of Polkomtel’s shares.
At present, the negotiations with Vodafone, the foreign shareholder of Polkomtel, are in progress, as PGE’s management revealed. The UK-based operator has declared recently that it might dispose of its stakes in companies in which it has minority stakes. Vodafone holds 24.4% of Polkomtel shares.
